This is Sweden ICT

Lund • Karlskrona • Linköping • Kista • Luleå • Göteborg

Six of Sweden’s leading science parks in ICT: Blue Science Park, Ideon Science Park, Kista Science City, Luleå Science Park, Lindholmen Science Park and Linköping Science Park together constitute innovation environments with more than 2400 companies with 59 000 employees. Most of the companies are in the ICT industry or serve as support functions for the ICT industry.

Attract talent

The companies have a need to attract foreign talent in order to increase talent in Sweden. To improve the conditions for companies in the ICT industry linked to innovation environments, the six science parks above have merged with a joint proposal on national colla¬boration, innovation scouting and talent attraction. Sweden ICT is the collaboration that will strengthen Sweden’s position as an ICT nation.

A prerequisite for competitiveness

A prerequisite for Sweden to remain competitive is that we succeed in recruiting at the desired rate. Competition for talent is global and a person who chooses an employer also chooses a country and a place to settle. In this competition, not only the employers’ brand is important, but also Sweden’s as well as the ICT industry branding. For the industry, it is important that we continuously develop and succeed in positioning ourselves internationally to attract talent and customers as well as investments. To succeed, we need to increase our world-wide knowledge, apply it and have good offers for our companies.

Sweden has a strong ICT industry

We are a country that has always been open to the outside world, which, despite our small size, has given us a good posi¬tion in a global perspective. Sweden has for many years successfully established and developed relationships with other countries; both at the individual level, company level and between ecosystems of different kinds. Our reputation is extre¬mely strong and our passports are among the foremost in the world.

Activities

Within the project, we will focus on the following activities:

1. Processes

Sharing processes and methods for national collaboration focusing on AI, Cyber Security and IoT based on our innovation environments. ”Tech with a purpose” shall be used in all technology development and Agenda 2030 should form the basis for all development.

2. Innovation scouting

With our joint knowledge about the national ICT industry and the Swedish innovation ecosystem, implement market intelligence in conjunction with two selected international events.

3. Talent attraction

Together with growth companies from our environments, partici¬pate in two international competence fairs under a joint brand “Sweden ICT” where we take as a starting point the Swedish Institute:

4. Sweden ICT EDIH

European Digital Innovation Hub Focus will be to serve regional and national companies and public organisations in the areas of AI, Cyber Security and IoT, with advanced digital skills and dist ribution and usage of digital capacity

Expected result

Increased the use of the innovation system’s overall offering in ICT and specifically AI, Cyber Security and IoT with a focus on Tech with a purpose, where we integrate the sustainability and ethics aspects. The work includes a stakeholder and target group analysis.

Obtain new knowledge and inspiration from the world’s hotspots, which are collected and analysed with our knowledge of the Swedish model. The material is presented in a report, made available through seminars and a panel discussion during the SISP event ”Sveriges innovationsriksdag” for the best dissemination effect.

Sweden gains increased visibility internationally as an IT nation. More talents are interested in Sweden, and the companies are given the opportunity to participate in an international arena with a collective offer to find the right skills.
